Pediatrics

When a member sets their specialty to Pediatrics, HM Praxis adds a Growth item to the navigation. Growth turns the values you record at well-child visits into clear trend charts, so you can follow a child's development over time at a glance.

Representative interface preview. The sections below carry the full, readable detail.
Turn it on with your specialty

Growth appears as soon as your specialty is Pediatrics. The specialty is a per-clinician choice you make in the Setup Wizard or in Settings → Profile; see the Specialties guide.

The Growth View

Pick a patient and Growth shows trend charts over time for:

  • Weight (kg)
  • Height (cm)
  • Head circumference (cm)

Each chart is read directly from the patient's structured pediatric record entries, so the trend always reflects exactly what you have recorded.

Trend Lines, Not Percentile Curves

To be clear about what Growth is: these are trend lines of the values you recorded. They are not WHO or CDC percentile growth curves - there are no percentile bands and no z-scores.

Use it for trends, not percentiles

Growth helps you see direction and rate of change over time. If you need percentile or z-score interpretation, use it alongside your standard growth reference, not in place of one.

The Pediatric Record Template

The values that drive the Growth charts come from the pediatric record template, which captures:

  • Weight
  • Height
  • Head circumference
  • Milestones
  • Immunizations

Record a visit with this template and the weight, height, and head-circumference values flow straight into the Growth view. See Medical Records for how structured templates work.
