Windows Installation Guide
Follow these steps to install the application on your Windows PC. The entire process takes less than 5 minutes.
Minimum Requirements:
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
- 4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended)
- 500 MB available disk space
- Internet connection (for activation and updates)
The fastest way to install on Windows 10 (1809+) and Windows 11 is the Windows Package Manager. It installs in one command and keeps the app updated automatically:

Download the Installer
Log in to your RbDevOps account. After logging in, navigate to your licenses page and click the download button for your application to get the Windows installer (.msi file).
The installer file will be named something like:
HM Praxis_x64_en-US.msiRun the Installer
Double-click the downloaded .msi file to start the installation wizard. Windows might show a security warning - click "Run anyway" to proceed.
If Windows Defender SmartScreen blocks the installer, click "More info" and then "Run anyway". This warning appears because the app is new and doesn't have widespread usage yet.
Choose Installation Location
The installer will suggest a default location:
C:\Program Files\HM Praxis\You can change this if needed, but the default location is recommended for most users.
Complete the Installation
Click "Install" and wait for the installation to complete (usually 30-60 seconds). The installer will:
- Copy application files
- Create desktop and start menu shortcuts
- Register the app with Windows
- Set up auto-update functionality
Launch the Application
Once installation is complete, launch the application from:
- Desktop shortcut (if you checked that option)
- Start Menu → HM Praxis
- Windows Search → type "HM Praxis"
The app will open and prompt you to enter your license key.
Enter Your License Key
Copy your license key from the dashboard and paste it into the activation window. The app will automatically activate.

Troubleshooting
Installation fails with "Access Denied"
Right-click the installer and select "Run as Administrator". Windows requires admin rights to install applications in Program Files.
Antivirus blocks the installer
Temporarily disable your antivirus software during installation, or add an exception for the HM Praxis installer. The installer is not yet code-signed, so some antivirus tools flag it as unknown while it builds reputation. winget installs the same package, so the same warning can appear; click "More info" and then "Run anyway" to continue.
App won't launch after installation
Restart your computer and try again. If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the application.
